We were here for the knight's meal. The food, ambience, show and service were just great. The time passed in an instant
Great view, very interesting castle. Deserves a visit
A very atmospheric place, tasty food, great pumpkin soup. Only caveat - very poor menu
Nice smaller castle, free to the public. Nice views of the valley. What remains of the castle is well kept. There is a path around the castle. The restaurant at the castle was good, just light fair, soups and salad, drinks. We had the pumpkin soup, and it was delicious.
I can only judge the castle. It was worth the trip. Unfortunately, the towers are currently closed due to Corona.
Hike up or drive up directly by car. Everything possible. Nice beer garden. Great view. Well suited for a weekend trip.
Nice place, beautiful nature.
Well-preserved castle ruins are open to the public. Getting on the serpentine road provides a thrill. From the top, there is a practically omni-directional panorama of the surrounding towns and hills, with good visibility far beyond the FFM ... on the premises a decent restaurant with prices not deviating from the "standard" in the area.
We spontaneously booked the small apartment for an overnight stay, everything worked out great! It was a special experience to be “lords” of a medieval castle for one night! We'll definitely be back!
We have had several knight dinners with customers here on business and have been thrilled every time. Great and harmonious ambience with a great service that takes care of everything. A visit to the castle ruins is also worthwhile privately, from which you have a great view and afterwards you can stop for a wine spritzer. Always my pleasure.
Very nice view and a very nice ruin. There are phone numbers that you can call and be told something about the castle, I think that's a great idea. The phone numbers are at the end on a sign. However, the connection didn't work for me.
The castle ruins of Schloß Auerbach stand on the Auerberg, which is one of the western edge mountains of the Odenwald. The castle ruins are located above Auerbach, a district of Bensheim. The castle was built in the 13th century. Since 1990 there has also been a restaurant with a view, which specializes in medieval gastronomy. Access to the castle ruins is currently possible between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. There is a parking lot at the castle, but from the train station in Auerbach you can also walk to the castle after a short hike. From the upper level of the castle you have a very nice view of the Bergstrasse to Mannheim and Ludwigshafen.
Lovely place to visit! After hiking the best Kochkäse you can have in the whole region, charged whit flavor and fresh oven bread. Bring a raincoat just in case. Suitable for families and couples.
Nice place for a day outing, not a hard trail to walk.
A really lovely place. Castle ruins are really beautiful. Access via a one-way road to the castle itself.
We were in the morning and had the ruins to ourselves with a wonderful view over the Hessian Ried. It was super relaxing.
A super magical place with views of the entire area. I recommend climbing the castle by bike. Thanks to this, one can appreciate the hardship faced by people who brought building material to this stronghold. A plus place. You must uncheck them on the map. I recommend
Went there on a little hike. The castle can be visited free of charge. The view from up here was great. You can eat and drink on site.
OK.
One of my most of beautiful Castle place. Really amazing. I'll come again to see summer time
Such a beautiful castle. Definitely worth visiting!
Great place to visit and walk in the castle ramparts; super views of the district
First castle I visited while in Germany. The views are amazing, especially at sunset. The restaurant is very good as well.
A tremendous castle that's off the tourist track. Amazing views. Nice restaurant with a view but a little pricey. Parking is easy.
A great place to visit, lots great views and walks....the castle is ancient....the restaurant does some really tasty German food ....and great beer...🍻
Well restored castle with great views
13th Century Medieval castle with beautiful overview of the city
Authentic, historical and you can tour on your own
Always worth a visit! One of my favourite castles...
Great views and 'real' historical feel.
Excellent day out wandering around the castle and up the towers. Very good food served in the restaurant.
Lovely. View is amazing. You can climb up both towers. The restaurant is also good. They have delicious desserts!
Great view towards Frankfurt, Ludwigshafen and the Palatinate. Also in the direction of Weinheim. And of course on Benzheim. Farmed. Enough free parking. The last meters have to be covered on foot.
Great place to see and eat. I think castles are cool. I love the history behind them, the architecture and views - most are sitting on top of mountains. And this all the above. Lots a towers you can still walk up and get great view to the valley below. The restaurant has great German food and both inside and outside seating with wonder views.
Nice old crib, I like the dragon egg and the view
Good place to visit after a nice walk or a hike. Nice view from the top.
Located on the top of the mountain, the medieval castle Auerbach.Ok.10km for Hemsbach. Beautiful landscapes, Numerous weekend attractions, knights tournaments, demonstrations of craftsmanship, archery.Rowniez the object where a lot of terrain be defeated by walk. Parcels similar almost under the castle, at the top. castle restaurants, inns offering full meals. Profor recommend.
Love love love
For hiking 🏔 awesome. Beautiful paths through the forest. Castle and restaurants just great. Nice view. I can only recommend.
Impressive ruins of a medieval castle on the top of the mountain in the middle of the forest. It does not seem to be available, but still it is a very narrow street to the castle. Two towers, from which the view is magnificent, are open to you, and I also recommend restaurants with delicious dishes. The whole building is really nice and worth seeing, I recommend.
Very nice view !
A very nice castle. You can visit everything you want and how long you want it. There is a landline number that you can call to get information about the castle and the places around it. We ate ice cream (ice machine!) And enjoyed the view.
As you can see, the castle is pretty cool. I walked all the corners and took many pictures. It is also free to enter. The parking is right outside. If you want to hike, there are 2 parking spots/trail heads on the way to the top of the hill. Be mindful that's one way, and so you can only do it on the way up, not down.
Beautiful Castle. Free to enter
Old ruins of a castle with spectacular views of the surrounding valley.
Love this castle. It looks like it was taken out of game of thrones
good coffee & cake, beautiful place.
It's a nice place to visit during a hiking tour. Great view over the area.
Free entrance and very good view!
Toll.
